Here's a taste of just some of our many successes.

Marcia Johnson - Hairdressing

Marcia trained in hairdressing at the College of North West London and has won numerous trophies for her outstanding styles and designs. One of them, which won her the title of Avant Garde Stylist of the Year, was modelled on the Jubilee clock in the centre of Harlesden!

The mother of two has now gone on to open her own salon, Rougz, on the Finchley Road in Hampstead - and the eye-popping five feet tall clock hairpiece in red, black and gold is there on display!

Paul Vickery - Photography

Brent secondary school teacher Paul scored an A grade in his Photography A-Level at the College of North West London - just one week after his pictures appeared in a big spread in the national magazine Boxing News, as part of an assignment on the All-Stars Boxing Club on the Harrow Road.

Paul took up photography in the evenings and now he is returning to CNWL as a part-time 'Artist In Residence' to expand his photographic portfolio for a possible post-graduate course. Paul said "I am ecstatic. Our tutor has been such an inspiration."

Annie Biada - Access to Computing, Maths and Science

French-speaking Annie from Cameroon spoke little English when she arrived in England but she successfully completed the one-year Access programme at the College of North West London and went on to win a University scholarship worth £12,000.

A single mother of two, Annie was encouraged by her tutors at CNWL to apply for the award to fund her three year BSc degree course in Information Systems at Westminster University.

Matteo Baiamonte - A Levels

Despite having to work long hours in restaurants to fund his studies, 21 year old Matteo passed four subjects at A Level with good grades and has since taken up a place at London University's Queen Mary College to study bio-medicine.

Matteo, from Harrow, is Brazilian and Catholic, but that didn't stop him from enrolling at the Islamic College for Advanced Studies, which is funded by the College of North West London, and going on to gain top grades in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Portuguese.
