Elvira Cosic studied Accountancy at the
College of North West London from 1997-
2000.
She did so well in her AAT
(Association of Accounting Technicians)
studies that the College offered her a job
as an assistant in Management
Accounting, within the Finance Division.
She then progressed to the final stages of her Accountancy exams (ACCA). Now she has been promoted to the key post of the College’s Management Accountant, supporting over 25 College budget holders and the Finance Director in formulating and managing the overall College budget.
Elvira came to the UK from Yugoslavia to improve her English, and heard about the College from her sister Vedrana, who enrolled at CNWL to study business, fashion and Italian, before going on to take a Business Studies degree and become a bank manager.
Said Elvira: 'I had such supportive teachers. When you are a new student in a brand new country, you need that support because it gives you motivation. It’s been hard work, but worth it, because I love my job.'
