CNWL has a Hardship Fund which could help you pay towards costs for:
- Travel
- Essential materials or equipment
- Tuition fees
- Childcare
- Field trips that are essential to your course
If you are over 16 years of age, enrolled on a course at CNWL that is approved by the Learning and Skills Council (our main funding body), are claiming benefits (or your parent / guardian is claiming benefits if you are 19 or under), and meet certain other requirements, you may be able to apply for help. We will need to check your residency / immigration status and see proof of your income.
If you do not meet the requirements you may still be able to access money from the College's Welfare Fund to help you cover the costs associated with studying (although this fund cannot help with childcare costs), or our limited Higher Education Fund.
If you are awarded Hardship Funds, to continue receiving money throughout the year you will be required to maintain a minimum of 80% at your classes. If you do not, then the money / your award will be withdrawn.
