If you are studying for a Higher Education qualification (HNC, HND, Foundation Degree, or other Level 4 courses), you may be entitled to apply for either a grant or a loan to help towards the cost of your course. You can apply for these from Student Finance England (also known as the Student Loans Company).
Full Time HE Students
- If you are a full time Higher Education student you can apply for a Tuition Fee loan from Student Finance England.
- There is no age limit for this support.
- You can apply for the full fee, up to a limit of £3,225 in any academic year, and the monies will be paid directly to the College.
- Entitlement to the loan will depend on your income and that of your household - Student Finance England will work out how much support you can get.
- You will only need to repay the loan when you have left your course and are earning over £15,000 per year.

Part Time HE Students
- If you are a part time Higher Education student studying at least 50% of an equivalent full time course, you may be entitled to a grant towards your fees and a grant towards your course costs - the College will be able to tell you if your course qualifies.
- There is no age limit for this support.
- Students who already have a degree cannot normally apply.
- There are three different rates of fee grant - the one you would be entitled to would depend on how intensive your course is.
- Entitlement to the grants will depend on your income and that of your household - Student Finance England will work out how much support you can get.

All HE Students
