Grants and Student Loans Information
Grants or Student Loans for HNC & HND Students

"Students may be able to apply for a Grant/Student Loan.  Further information on how to apply, together with an Application Form, can be obtained from Student Finance Direct, www.studentfinance.co.uk

You will be asked to pay 50% of the Course Fee to the College before you can start the course and before your Application Form for a Grant/Student Loan can be signed by the College. If you are awarded a Grant, your tuition fee will be paid direct to the College. If the Grant does cover the total cost of the Tuition Fee the College will reimburse you with part of the deposit paid. However, if the Grant does not cover the Tuition Fee the College will expect the difference to be paid by the student. "

Grants or Student Loans for Teacher Training - Certificate & Diploma in Education

"Students will be able to apply for a Maintenance Grant, which is tax-free and non-repayable.  It has two components: a means-tested component and a non-means tested component.  Students should contact the Student Support Officer at their local education authority (LEA) to get a copy of Form PN1.  You can find your LEA from this site:
For further information about eligibility criteria, contact the Lifelong Learning UK advice team by phone on 020 7936 5798 or by email at advice@lluk.org

It is important that applicants to the course apply for the grant as soon as they have successfully applied to be on the course as students will be expected to pay the first instalment by the end of November. Grants are sent to students directly and not to the College.  Students will be given details of when to pay at the beginning of their course."
