CNWL is committed to providing an environment where all individuals are given the opportunity to achieve their potential. This means that we aim to remove all forms of discrimination at the College, such as bullying, harassment, and inequality as a result of of a person's age, race, disabililty, colour, nationality, gender, religious affiliation, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic.
The College is situated in one of the most multi-cultural and diverse communities in the country. We see this diversity as our strength and the student population at CNWL reflects this diversity. Embracing the concepts of diversity and equality is about making an effort to recognise that people in the College are of different religious, cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, are of different ages and genders, and have different physical and mental abilities.
CNWL works hard at promoting equality and diversity. Every year there are events relating to equality and diversity, such as celebrations of Black History Month.

Racial and Sexual Harassment
In keeping with our Equal Opportunities policy all staff and students have a responsibility to challenge racist or sexist behaviour. If you think you may be the victim of harassment but are unsure about your feelings you may wish to talk it through with usually your course tutor or Course Team Leader. Our staff are all trained and will help you decide what to do next or help you make a complaint. The College has very clear procedures for dealing with harassment and will take the necessary steps to ensure that anyone making a complaint is not victimised or harmed in any way as a result. There is a copy of the complaints procedure on the Student webpage , the learning Resources Centres and the Student Room.
A Secular College
CNWL respects the diverse cultural and religious traditions of all its students and accepts the rights of individuals and groups peaceably to worship and to fulfill their cultural obligations. Accordingly, the College will neither promote, nor permit to be promoted, any one religious faith or culture. Whilst College facilities exist primarily for the delivery of educational activities, arrangements will be made, where practicable, for students to carry out essential religious observance. Dedicated facilities cannot be provided for particular faith groups.
